Chris Owen and Julian Owen head up the soccer program as Directors of Coaching. Both Chris and Julian played professionally in Europe and are A licensed coaches. Both of whom have run soccer camps throughout Arkansas for years prior to coming to the Mighty Bluebird coaching staff.
Holds a USSF “A” License as well as a National Youth License. Coach Sherwood is a Little Rock native, combines 20 years of playing experience at the club, high school, and collegiate level, with 14 years of coaching experience at the club, Olympic Development, and collegiate level. He played four years at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA), being named team captain his junior and senior seasons. From there he spent five years as the assistant coach for UCA, helping the program make three trips to the NCAA tournament, including a Final Four appearance in 2002.
Assisting in soccer is Coach Mina who played soccer growing up in Colombia and now who serves as the Head Soccer Coach for Central Arkansas Christian’s Boys team. In addition to playing soccer, Coach Fabian Mina also played professional basketball and played on the Olympic team for Colombia.
Coach Greg Hatcher assists all the different sports and has experience in all of them. Hatcher was the last athlete to play three sports in Alma College getting letters in soccer, wrestling, and baseball. He was recently inducted in the Alma College Hall of Fame and was a member of a record six championship teams with Alma College winning three in wrestling and three in baseball during his four year stay. Three of the wrestling teams and one of the baseball teams has also been inducted into the Alma College Hall of Fame. All of these teams were coached by Coach Bruce Dickey.
